5 Things

From Gideon Barker, founder of Customer iQ. View the newsletter archive.

Hi {{ First_name | reader}}

World Cup fever got you yet??! Maybe not quite, we are only two games in. But I happened to love the atmosphere watching the opening game at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City yesterday. Mexico, for me, is a great country to host (memories of World Cup ‘86 still linger!).

New email format today - I am trialling this for the next few issues. Your 5 Things are now more of an integral part of the email flow. Any feedback gratefully received.

BTW, all images in today’s newsletter have come from Vecteezy - big thanks to them.

THREE:

Are you in the SW? Are you in tech? Then you might want to apply for a Tech South West Award! You’ve one month left to get your submission in - apply here.

FOUR:

Are you feeling sceptical around the upcoming SpaceX IPO? If not, maybe you need to watch a recent interview with Quinn Slobodian (author of ‘Muskism’) on DemocracyNow!

FIVE:

Creative work - World Cup frenzy! Nike’s ‘Rip the Script’ rips it up with 75m YouTube views in 6 days vs 6.9m for ‘Backyard Legends’ by Adidas.

And, of course - COME ON ENGLAND!! Without doubt, it is most certainly coming home in 2026 - 60 years of hurt is starting to get really painful.
